Group Classes & Community Music Programs

 Spotlight Piano School offers group programs for children and adults. Our programs combine professional instruction with the enjoyment and motivation of learning with others.


 Beginning September 1, Adult Beginner Piano, Music Theory & Ear Training, Children’s Music Appreciation & Musicianship, and Coffee & Music for Adults will be held at Spotlight Piano School’s Main Campus, located at 18022 Nassau Bay Drive, Houston, TX 77058. Children’s Piano 101 and Piano 102 will continue to meet at the League City Community Center.  

Children's Group Piano Classes

Piano 101


Piano 101 is designed for students with little or no previous piano experience. Students will learn foundational piano skills including note reading, rhythm, basic keyboard technique, hand coordination, scales, chords, and simple two-hand pieces in a fun and supportive classroom environment. 


Piano 102


Piano 102 is intended for students who are already comfortable with basic keyboard fundamentals and simple two-hand coordination. Students will continue developing stronger technique, note reading, scales, musical independence, improvisation, and keyboard fluency through more advanced pieces and musical activities.

  • Small class sizes (8–12 students) 
  • Once-weekly 50-minute classes offered on either Tuesday or Saturday  
  • Students grouped with similar-aged classmates 
  • Classes held at the League City Community Center 
  • Digital keyboards provided for in-class learning  
  • $349 for a 12-week course

Music Theory & Ear Training

Music Appreciation & Musicianship

Music Appreciation & Musicianship

This class helps students understand both written music and what they hear. It supports private music study and helps students prepare for the annual state theory test.


Topics may include note reading, rhythm, scales, intervals, chords, key signatures, harmony, ear training, dictation, and sight-singing. 

 

Program Details: 

  • Weekly 50-minute classes
  • $299 for 12 classes
  • Groups organized by age and theory level
  • New classes begin once a minimum of eight students with compatible theory levels are enrolled and a suitable class time is confirmed.

Music Appreciation & Musicianship

Music Appreciation & Musicianship

This class introduces children to great composers, important musical works, and different periods and styles of music. It helps students understand the stories, history, and ideas behind the music they hear and play.


Through guided listening, storytelling, class discussion, live piano demonstrations, and creative activities, students learn to recognize musical styles and listen with greater understanding. The class is designed to make music history interesting, memorable, and meaningful for young students.

 

Program Details: 

  • No previous musical training required
  • Weekly 50-minute classes
  • $299 for 12 classes
  • New classes begin once the minimum enrollment of eight students is reached and a suitable class time is confirmed

Adult Beginner Piano Class

Adult Beginner Piano Class

Adult Beginner Piano Class

Designed for adults who would like to learn piano in a relaxed and supportive small-group setting. No previous experience is required.

Students learn note reading, rhythm, basic technique, hand coordination, chords, scales, and accessible piano pieces. The class also welcomes adults returning to piano after many years.

 

Program Details: 

  • Designed specifically for adult learners
  • No previous piano experience required
  • Small groups of 6–10 adults
  • Weekly 50-minute classes
  • $349 for 12 classes
  • New classes begin as groups are formed

Coffee & Music for Adults

Adult Beginner Piano Class

Adult Beginner Piano Class

Coffee & Music is a guided musical experience for adults who enjoy listening, learning, and meeting other music lovers. No musical background is required.

Each gathering explores a musical theme through stories, guided listening, conversation, and live demonstrations. Guest musicians and special presentations may also be included.

 

Program Details: 

  • Approximately 60 minutes
  • $38 per session
  • Coffee and light refreshments included
  • Minimum of 8 participants
  • Advance registration required
